Specifications

Lace Season Irregular Lace PET Tape is a 40mm × 2m transparent PET adhesive tape printed with intricate floral lace patterns, available in at least 6 colourways including black, white, sage green, coffee/brown, grey, and ivory, with a 350mm repeating pattern cycle per roll. It's built for crafters who want the look of real lace trim without scissors, sewing, or glue — just peel, press, and it's done.

This tape is designed for journaling, scrapbooking, gift wrapping, card-making, and junk journal decoration. The PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film base gives it a semi-transparent quality — when layered over kraft paper, coloured cardstock, or cream journal pages, the base colour shows through, changing the tape's overall effect depending on the surface beneath. That's actually part of the appeal: one roll can look different every time depending on what you stick it to. The irregular, scalloped lace edges give a convincingly textile-like finish that regular washi tape can't replicate. This is not a repositionable tape — it's a permanent-bond PET tape, so it's not suitable for planning journals where you need to move or remove elements cleanly.

The lace pattern.

Each design runs on a 350mm repeating cycle, which is long enough that repeat seams are virtually invisible at normal viewing distances. The pattern style varies by colourway: the black and coffee/brown versions feature dense, ornate floral and paisley motifs, while the white and grey options lean toward delicate scalloped borders with lighter floral fills. The sage green sits in between — botanical, slightly vintage, understated. All edges are irregular rather than straight-cut, mimicking the scalloped edge of real lace trim.

How it performs in practice.

The PET base is thinner and more flexible than standard washi paper tape, which means it lies very flat when pressed down — no bubbling at the edges. It cuts cleanly with scissors and tears reasonably well by hand if you work against the roll direction. Because the film is semi-transparent, layering two strips side-by-side or overlapping them slightly produces a richer, more textured look. The 40mm width is wide enough to serve as a decorative border across a full journal spread without needing to double up.

Please note: PET tape does not take ink or watercolour paint on its surface, so if you plan to write over it, test first — pencil and oil-based pens tend to sit better than water-based markers.

Every detail considered.

Colourways.

Black Lace
Dense floral and honeycomb mesh — bold contrast on light paper, dramatic on dark.

White Lace
Delicate scalloped edge with fine floral detail — beautiful over kraft or coloured backgrounds.

Sage Green
Botanical, slightly moody — works well for vintage and cottagecore aesthetics.

Coffee / Brown
Paisley and floral motifs with a sepia, antique feel — excellent for junk journaling.

Grey
Fine lace pattern — subtle, elegant, pairs well with any neutral palette.

FAQ

Is this tape repositionable or removable?

No — this is a permanent-bond PET tape. It adheres firmly and is not designed to be repositioned or peeled off cleanly after application. Use it on surfaces you're committing to decorating.

How wide is the tape and how much do I get per roll?

Each roll is 40mm wide (just under 1.6 inches) and 2 metres long (approximately 6.5 feet). The cylindrical canister it comes in measures 39×40mm.

Can I write or paint over it?

The PET surface resists most water-based inks and watercolours. Oil-based markers and some gel pens work better, but you should test on a short strip before committing. Pencil doesn't adhere well either.

Does the transparent base change how the colours look?

Yes, and that's intentional. Because the film is semi-transparent, the surface you apply it to shows through. The same tape will look noticeably different on white paper versus kraft versus coloured cardstock — which gives you a lot of creative flexibility.

How visible is the pattern repeat seam?

The pattern repeats every 350mm (about 13.8 inches). At that cycle length, joins are barely noticeable in most journaling or gift-wrapping applications. If you're placing it under close scrutiny on a flat spread, align strips carefully.

Is this sold as individual rolls or as a set?

Based on the product images, each colourway is sold as a single roll. If you want multiple colours, you'd select and purchase each separately. The canister packaging makes them easy to store as a collection.
